  • How does book club work?
Everyone reads the same book and meets to discuss their thoughts and opinions on that book.
  • How often does the book club meet?
We meet once a week [INSERT TIME] every Saturday at [INSERT PLACE]. However, not every week is dedicated to discussing the book we're reading. We alternate between book discussions and social events every other week. Check the calendar tab on this website to see what events are upcoming!
  • What book are we reading?
Scroll down on the "Home" tab to see what we're currently reading.
  • How is the book that we're reading chosen?
We read a new book every two months (1 book cycle = 2 months). Once it's time for a new book, we send out an email to all our members informing them of this book cycle's genre and a form to optionally submit a book recommendation within said genre. The genres were chosen by you, our members, in a survey sent out at the beginning of the academic year. The committee will take into account your suggestions and then generate a list of ten books for you to vote upon. You can access the book lists for this current book cycle and all previous book cycles in the tab titled "Book List".
  • Do I need to buy my own book?
Every member is responsible for obtaining their own copy of the book we are reading. However, it is up to you if you'd like to obtain a physical, digital or audio copy of the book.
  • How much of the book do I need to read in between meetings?
Book discussions occur every two weeks. Within that two weeks, we expect you to read approximately 25% of the book. We strongly encourage you to adhere to this schedule to ensure that everyone can freely discuss and share their opinions on the book without any concern for spoilers. To see the exact chapter you need to read up to for the next meeting, scroll down on the "Home" tab. You are more than welcome to read ahead if you wish, but be aware that you will strictly not be allowed to share your opinion on later chapters with other members to avoid spoiling the book for those who have chosen not to read ahead.
